The North Texas Mean Green picked up another strong addition Sunday afternoon to its 2019 recruiting class with the commitment of North Little Rock (Ark.) High School three-star prospect Oscar Adaway.

North Texas and Colorado State have been considered the top two contenders during the past several weeks for the 6-foot, 208-pound Adaway, who has also gotten offers at the FBS level from Southern Miss and Texas State. Adaway has garnered additional interest from programs such as Arkansas, Iowa State, Vanderbilt, Louisiana Tech, and Memphis, among others.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball had five predictions in Adaway's recruitment at the time of his Sunday afternoon commitment. Four of them had gone to the Mean Green, while one prediction went to Colorado State.

The industry-generated 247Sports Composite rates Adaway as a three-star prospect and ranks him as the No. 110 running back nationally for the 2019 recruiting cycle. He is ranked No. 13 overall in the state of Arkansas for his class. The 247Sports rankings put Adaway significantly higher nationally among 2019 running backs at No. 86 overall. He is also No. 13 in the state of Arkansas for this cycle in the 247Sports rankings.

While his projection and rankings are set for the running back position, Adaway possesses the physical traits and athleticism to play multiple spots at the next level. He has been recruited as an athlete by North Texas. Adaway could play running back, safety, or even outside linebacker depending on his physical development and where the Mean Green needs to use him once he arrives on campus.

Adaway is the 17th commitment for a North Texas 2019 recruiting class that already sat atop the Conference USA team recruiting rankings, according to the 247Sports Composite. North Texas is now ranked No. 54 nationally. That is 22 spots ahead of the next CUSA school, which is Western Kentucky at No. 76.

Adaway is the third commitment for the Mean Green's 2019 class from outside the state of Texas' borders and the first from Arkansas. Outside of the Lone Star State, North Texas already had landed commitments from Owasso (Okla.) High School three-star quarterback Will Kuehne and Broken Arrow (Okla.) High School three-star defensive tackle Demeco Roland.

The positional home for Adaway once he arrives in Denton is yet to be determined. Looking at the North Texas commitment list, the Mean Green's top three 2019 pledges play outside linebacker or running back -- Dallas Bishop Lynch outside linebacker Gabriel Murphy, Manvel (Texas) running back Garrison Johnson, and Dallas Bishop Lynch outside linebacker Grayson Murphy.

North Texas also has two safety commitments in Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek's Jevin Murray and Rosenberg (Texas) Terry's Leandre Davis, as well as two inside linebacker pledges in Grand Prairie (Texas) South Grand Prairie's Taylor Jacobs and Converse (Texas) Judson's Kevin Wood.

Adaway returns for what should be a strong senior season at North Little Rock. A year ago, he helped the Charging Wildcats to an undefeated 13-0 campaign and the Arkansas Class 7A state championship. North Little Rock opens its 2018 season Saturday, Aug. 25, when the Wildcats face Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington in a neutral site contest in Bentonville, Ark.
