The Charging Wildcats stayed in it until the end, but Decatur pulled away late in a 5-2 victory on Wednesday. Decatur trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Dupper doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
The Charging Wildcats lost despite out-hitting Decatur seven to six.
North Little Rock got things moving in the first inning. Christian Litton drove in one when he doubled.
Gannaway was credited with the victory for Decatur. He went seven innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and striking out three.
Hudson Hurt took the loss for the Charging Wildcats. He surrendered three runs on three hits over two-thirds of an inning, walking one.
John Henry Maloch started the game for the Charging Wildcats. He went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out five.
The Charging Wildcats totaled seven hits. Litton and Weston Mcghee all collected multiple hits for Charging Wildcats. Mcghee and Litton each collected two hits to lead the Charging Wildcats.
Henderson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Decatur in hits.
