Charging Wildcats built a five-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off Nettleton's charge for a 6-5 victory on Saturday. Nettleton scored four runs in the failed comeback on a single by Cleary and a double by Hilson.
Nettleton scored four runs in the fifth inning, but Charging Wildcats still managed to pull out the victory. Nettleton batters contributing to the big inning included Cleary and Hilson, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
In the first inning, Charging Wildcats got their offense started.
Charging Wildcats notched three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by
Charging Wildcats was led by Weston Mcghee, Alex Cauley, and Christian Litton, all driving in runs in the frame.
Trent Bunting got the win for Charging Wildcats. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out 11. Hudson Hurt threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Dunlap took the loss for Nettleton. He lasted two innings, allowing four hits and three runs.
Charging Wildcats tallied ten hits. Cauley and Mcghee each collected multiple hits for Charging Wildcats. Cauley went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Charging Wildcats in hits. Charging Wildcats was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Dezmond Cordova made the most plays with 14.
Nettleton tallied six hits in the game. Hilson and Cleary all collected multiple hits for Nettleton. Hilson led Nettleton with three hits in three at bats.
