NORTH LITTLE ROCK (KATV) —
North Little Rock kicker Savana Melton is dedicating her senior football season to helping kids with cancer. As the kicker, Melton will accept pledges and donations each field goal and extra point she makes during the season to benefit childhood cancer research.
Melton is participating in the Kick-It Champions program powered by Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. She hopes to raise $4,500, which funds about two weeks of research, in honor of her 2016 teammate Cruz Carter, who battled leukemia.
North Little Rock’s first game is Friday, September 1 at Maumelle.
